Topological hermeneutics and situated thinking en Rodolfo Kush and Walter Mignolo´s philosophies

This work aims to discuss the hermeneutical projects of two argentinian authors: Rodolfo Kusch (1922 - 1979) and Walter Mignolo (1941). We will present the intercultural hermeneutics of Kusch and the pluritopic hermeneutics of Mignolo, discussing the main concepts, contributions and influence of the first on the second. These hermeneutics arise from the understanding challenges established by colonial processes and their unfolding, and from the broad cultural diversity that constitutes nuestra America. Both authors will highlight the fundamental role of spatiality, place and territoriality to our thinking, living and understanding of the world. We argue that such hermeneutics, by explicitly formulating concepts related to place as the ground from which we live and think, are not simply proposals for situated thought, but examples of topological hermeneutics.
