Abstract

It is a qualitative study with direct observation aimed to identify the presence and articulation of indigenous Kaingang the Southwest Paraná out of Indigenous Lands (TI's). The survey was conducted in Indigenous Mangueirinha, being the most populous and be closer to the middle region development centers, using open questions script technique and field diary. It was found that the Indians feel devalued by the surrounding society, and that the main activities developed by them in the region are as employees in companies, commerce, schools and municipalities, and as college students in colleges and universities. The fact that IT's keep a list of socio-political change, especially when it comes to the same ethnic group, makes us believe that the results shown by this study in IT Mangueirinha reproduce in the other. Thus, it can be said that the Indian Kaingang is present in economic and educational areas of southwestern Paraná, contributing to its development and benefit from it for their own development Kaingang.
