Amazônia e Mudanças Climáticas: Contribuições para a atuação de escolas no Município de Igarapé-Açu – Pará

The 21st century has been characterized by a scenario of intense socio-environmental transformations, in which climate change presents itself as one of the greatest global challenges. In this sense, this study presents Environmental Education as a strategic response to the civilizational crisis experienced by humanity, with schools as the main space for action. Regarding methodological aspects, the research focused on bibliographic research using various instruments, including books, articles published in periodicals, websites, among others, proceeding with an analysis based on the Amazon region, more specifically the municipality of Igarapé-Açu/Pará. As a result, it was found that confronting climate change requires more than isolated technological solutions or public policies. It demands a paradigmatic shift, capable of breaking with the logic of domination over nature and establishing a new environmental rationality. In this sense, Environmental Education plays an essential role in this process, as it stimulates a critical reading of reality, the recognition of the structural causes of environmental degradation, and collective engagement in the construction of sustainable alternatives.
