Lotze, Kerry e Frege
considerando el Psychologismusstreit más allá de la oposición psicologismo-antipsicologismo

Este artículo aborda la Psychologismusstreit, argumentando que los análisis existentes suelen ser demasiado simplistas y paradójicos debido al intento de categorizar un panorama histórico complejo y variado utilizando una simple dicotomía psicologismo-antipsicologismo. Aunque se suele asumir que Lotze es antipsicologista y Kerry psicologista, y que, por lo tanto, Frege se alinea con el primero en contra del segundo, el artículo sostiene que Frege, en su crítica al psicologismo, se opone tanto a Lotze como a Kerry. Esto se debe a que ambos comparten el «principio de inmanencia», que postula que nuestros objetos directos son nuestras propias ideas o representaciones. Frege rechaza este principio, negando la necesidad de constituir lo objetivo a partir de lo subjetivo, y en su lugar reduce el problema a la aparición de lo objetivo dentro de la subjetividad.
