Abstract

This paper aims to raise awareness of the encounter between tuffs / Qom and Jesuits between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Period in which there were different relationships that resulted in the formation of reductions, but with a different character occurred backfire on ethnicity. At the beginning with contributions peaceful and end with the resignation of a war that lasted in the Chaco during the colonial period when the Spanish were unable to achieve their full objectives of territorial conquest. In this context alone survived the reduction of San Ignacio but without the precision planning of the first to be adjusted to the rules given for the creation of reductions. However had the property of others of his time in the Spanish authority had formally interference to exercise the right foundational Christian Jesuit and people end up becoming prisoners of war.
