This study sought to demonstrate the life story of Bert Hellinger. Bert Hellinger was born in 1925 and passed away in 2019, being recognized worldwide as the creator of family constellations. Currently, the study of family constellations enters the academic field, as it is already an integrative practice recognized by the Unified Health System and also a form of conflict resolution within the Judiciary. However, from what the systemic paradigm itself proposes, it is impossible to approach a theme in isolation, without understanding the context in which it is inserted. Thus, the present work punctuates Bert Hellinger's life story, demonstrating his findings on the systemic field. In this way, it is possible to understand the importance of knowing Bert Hellinger's life history so that he could base systemic knowledge, in the same way that it is possible to apply such reasoning to any researcher, since a person's life history is inseparable from his or her research object.
