Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to show how Husserl's phenomenology serves as the foundation for Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology, especially in the concepts of body and world. From these concepts, there is no longer a hierarchy between such dualities; the body acquires a phenomenal status and comes to be defined as a lived body, where mind and body are not separated. It is the lived body that enables me to perceive the world through sensation, even before thinking about it. The analysis of the concepts of body and world in their works reveals both similarities and differences. The main works used in the development of this article were Cartesian Meditations and Phenomenology of Perception.
