Trata-se de explorar o envolvimento de Heidegger com a filosofia de Dilthey, com foco nos conceitos de compreensão e historicidade dentro da tradição hermenêutica. Heidegger examina a crítica de Dilthey às abordagens metafísicas e científicas do conhecimento, enfatizando as limitações das dicotomias sujeito-objeto e defendendo a compreensão como fundamental para as ciências humanas. A análise destaca a importância do contexto histórico, a unidade da vida e a necessidade de ir além dos paradigmas das ciências naturais em direção a uma abordagem mais holística e existencial da verdade e do significado.
