Al comienzo del camino se mostró: todo dominar los alejamientos no trae cercanía en parte alguna. Con la cercanía se suprime también la lejanía. Todo es allanado en lo sin distancia. Ahora vemos más claramente: la cercanía es (west: esencia, se despliega) en
tanto la cosa se despliega como cosa (dingt: pone en juego, cosea). Al desplegarse como cosa, la cosa despliega mundo (Ding dingt Welt). Desplegarse como cosa es acercar (nähern) que mantiene en la cercanía el mundo como mundo. En el acercar reside la esencia de la cercanía.
