Abstract

This article aims to investigate one of the two types of epistemic injustice
present in M. Fricker's original work: hermeneutic injustice. The general purpose is to
discuss the viability of what is called the problem of identifying this typology of injustice.
To do so, we will follow the moments that precede and support this objective. In the
first, we will discuss what hermeneutic injustice consists of. In the second, we will
address what Fricker points out as its source (its cause). And, in the third, we will explore
some possible solutions. Finally, we will argue about the difficulty in identifying a case of
hermeneutic injustice in an attempt, finally, to solve it.
