Abstract

The intrapreneurs are considered essential for both, public or private
organizations, since they can be considered as agents of changes and innovation,
transforming ideas into successful products or services. In this context, the role of
women as intrapreneurs has increased considerably, as they are assuming positions
of leadership and management in public and private organizations. This research has
the aim of investigating the intrapreneur performance of women as managers in the
public context where exists different challenges and barriers to intrapreneurial activity. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to compare the intrapreneur profile of
women, who have positions of management, to those who do not. So, the research
object are university agents and teachers from Western Paraná State University
institution, in which women has outstanding performance. Data were collected
through the application of a questionnaire to forty agents. The main results show that,
on average, the agents present intrapreneur profile, especially women who hold
managerial positions in the university. Furthermore, age and education level were
found to have influence on the entrepreneur development.
