Abstract

This paper aims to evidence the strategies used by the professionals of Secretarial Sciences related to the concept of Personal Marketing. This investigation sought to demonstrate whether these actions are really effective in improving the professional development and the personal image of them. It also aimed to show if companies are benefited by such actions. Finally, the study sought to verify that Personal Marketing is not only related to appearance and image.The work is divided in: the literature review about the evolution of the professional profile of the secretarial area and some concepts about Marketing Staff. In the second part, it was investigated what kind of the techniques and methodologies were used in this study. After, it was presented the analysis of results obtained through the application of semi-structured questionnaires. In the end, the endings considerations were associated to literature researched with the consequences of this article. It aimed to link the marketing concept with the secretarial area.Thus, it was concluded that strategies of Personal Marketing should not be restricted only to measures to promote the image and appearance of the secretarial area workers, but to the development of career plan, and also to the conduction of actions that add value in the development of these professionals. These area of knowledge have to adapt its profile with the requirements of companies. It must combine individual appearance to the improvement and qualification of secretarial professional.
