ANALYSIS AND DIAGNOSTIC OF SOCIOECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY IN RURAL SETTLEMENTS ELDORADO II IN MUNICIPALITY OF SIDROLÂNDIA, MS

This research was carried out to analyze the socioeconomic and environmental sustainability of the settlement Eldorado II in Sidrolândia (MS). The data used for analysis were the primary data, result of applying a structured questionnaire to a random sample of 260 settlers. The data were tabulated and processed in order to raise the socioeconomic profile of the settlers and for the calculation of rates of economic and social development (IDES), social capital (ICS) and environmental. (IA). With these three indices its was found the sustainability index (IS). With the values found for tie IDES, ICS and IA, respectively, 0,646, 0355, 0,572, was determined the sustainability index IS for the settlement, whose result was 0,524. This results are very near to those found settlement in the states of Ceará, Goiás and Rio Grande do Norte, indicating that problem may be conjunctural, requering by the government, a better analisys in the guidelines for implementatin of new settlements.
