Abstract

The objective of the research was to characterize the profile of the fruit production in the north and northwest regions of the Rio de Janeiro state. In general terms, it was observed that these fruit producers are land owners, with low education degrees, have some experience in the fruit production and have problems with the lack of technical assistance. Significant differences between technological adoption between the counties were also observed. It can be inferred that these differences are associates, in part, to the degree of education of the fruit producers, their experience in these activity, the access to technical assistance and participation on the "Moeda-Verde Frutificar'' program.
