Abstract

This paper analyses the main tendencies of the migration movements in the territory of Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state of Brazil, during the two last decades. It focuses regional divisions (Urban Agglomerations and – Regional Conceals of Development - Coredes), and is based   on data collected in the Demographic Census of 2001 and 2010, particularly the population growth and the age stratification.
