The current article discusses the Cartesian theory of the representation analyzing the internal structure of the thinking and the function of the idea in the apprehension and the making of a safe knowledge. Therefore it presents arguments which justify the originality of this theory in the scope of the modern knowledge. We intend to show that the original sense given by Descartes to the notion of idea, as a representational content which underlines the reality, which makes that all the base of a rigorous knowledge of the science is possible to be understood through the internal instance of the subject.
