Abstract

The quest in this article is indentify how elementary caracteristics of the modernworld, in the early 20th century, are presented by Franz Kafka’s novellas “The Metamorphosis”,“The Castle” and “A Hunger Artist”. Despite all Kafka’s writings are equaly important todeal with modernity, the novellas chosen here show Kafka’s ability to dialogue with proeminentquestions refering the capitalism system e and its consequences on ordinary life of thecommon citzen. Doing it, presents a world in ruins, without humanists ilusions, in which themain characters aren’t heroes, but destined to death and oblivion. Pessimism and ironydefine his overlooking on individuality inside a capitalism society.
