Abstract

This article discusses the historic/conceptual outlines that have allowed the emersion of editorial projects of literary collections, mainly the ones we have defined as series and thematic. In order to do so, after outlining the field trajectories of the two formats, in the sequence of discussions we will confront one another, in order to evaluate their affinities and discrepancies. We can see that the collections stipulate a field of discourse, whose editors select and rank into volumes those works which are considered legitimate representatives of a theme totality to be read. Stipulating the concept of fragmentation as a defining characteristic of collections, we believe that literary criticism, centered around the analysis of literary works released in volumes, should take into consideration the editorial tools that constitute the aesthetics of interruption.
