Abstract

To discuss the construction of the journalistic speech through
the rhetoric, starting from the studies of Perelman (2000) that renewed the Greeks and Romans' rhetoric, starting to understand it as the art of speaking to persuade. That is the starting point of this article that intends to reveal convergences between the rhetoric and the journalism. This discursive gender is used of rational and emotional arguments, to delineate its strategy for the construction of the probable, which has as purpose to persuade and to look for the adhesion of the favorable public to the defended theories. The intentionality of that speech can be revealed, in certain measure, in the chosen strategies, in other words, in the chosen and elect arguments, its disposition and its articulation. In that analysis, it will be in focus the use of the linguistic category of the adjective inserted in the opinionative journalistic text.
