Abstract

 

This article discusses report text genre, its definition, characteristics and structure, and its application in teaching reading and writing. This study is part of teaching research called “The teaching of reading and writing from textual genres”, developed at the University of Caxias do Sul/CARVI. The research presents a qualitative-interpretive approach, with didatic and pedagogic application. Its use improved students reading and writing skills. This article is based on the PCNs (1998) and the authors Bakhtin (1992), Dolz, Noverraz and Schneuwly (2004), Kato (1990), Garcia-Debanc (1986), Koch (1993), Kaufman and Rodríguez (1995), Bahia (1990), Guedes (1994), Lage (1987), Petitjean (1994) and Dell'Isola (2007).
