Abstract

Contemporary literature not only pursues different forms of telling its stories but also has been a rich place for reflecting issues such as its own condition of production within the literary field. Such works not only question the limits of fiction but also perform debates about narratives from many perspectives, revealing the workings of literary construction in the keen eyes of the reader. This article tries to understand how this phenomenon can occur in performative works such as in Um crime delicado (1997) written by Sérgio Sant’anna and Joana a contragosto (2005) written by Marcelo Mirisola. These works show interesting similarities, not only in relation to the metacriticism that they depict, but also related the kind of eroticism as a metaphor for the tension in the relationship between author, reader and the work itself.
