Abstract

This paper presents a Portuguese translation proposal for an excerpt of Virginia

Woolf’s The Years, which has been developed from a translation project and discussed in

the light of concepts within Translation Studies, mainly those by functionalist authors

Katharina Reiss, Hans Vermeer and Christiane Nord.
