Abstract

 From an objective analysis of the current context through a deductive method of reading and interpretation of certain theories, relating them especially with the consumer’s figure, it can be noticed the existence of a process of consolidation of a new paradigm concerning environmental responsibility. The consumption, allied with the ethical, socioeconomic and current legal standards is strictly related to the management of the environmental goods and throughout a shared responsibility, a right/obligation that arise from the guarantee of access to information, of freedom of choice and from the recognition of the environment’s quality of interdependence. This is a study that seeks to associate environmental regulatory responsibility, which has a solidary and shared nature, with the new powers and values incorporated by consumers – such as the increased access to information - as well as their current needs and possibilities of consumption in the contemporary world, using as interpretative tools certain principles from the environmental law and critical theories of the postindustrial society.
