Abstract

: Population growth and demand for water require managers to ensure its availability and quality. Among the instruments defined by law no. 9,433/1997, the charge for water stands out. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the evolution of charges for the use of water resources in Brazil, with emphasis on the Paranaíba river basin. The methodology was based on two phases, one of reviewing articles available in Capes journals and the other of consulting spreadsheets from the Araguari River Basin Agency on charging for the use of water under the Union's jurisdiction in the Paranaíba river basin. The results showed that charging for the use of water resources constitutes a relevant instrument for disciplining and attracting financial resources that will allow improvements in the planning and management of water use. It is noteworthy that irrigation appears as the main user of the flow captured in the Paranaíba river. However, the main source of resources for collection comes from public supply. Among the Federation Units, the Federal District proved to be the largest contributor in the Paranaíba river basin.

He has a degree in Geography from the Federal University of Goiás (2003), a Master's degree in Geography from the Federal University of Goiás (2006) and a PhD in Geography from the Federal University of Goiás (2011). He has experience in the area of ​​Geography, with an emphasis on Geoecology, Environmental Planning, Geoprocessing, working mainly on the following topics: landscape analysis, environmental impacts, land use and occupation, geoenvironmental modeling and geoecological analyzes in river basins and conservation units. Coordinates the Geoecology of Cerrado Landscapes Research Group. Linked to the Postgraduate Program in Environmental Sciences (CIAMB) and the Postgraduate Program in Geography (PPGEO), both at UFG, as a permanent professor. Represents UFG on Advisory Councils for Conservation Units in the state of Goiás and on the Caminho dos Veadeiros Management Council.

Aldo Muro Junior, IFG - Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goiás

Postdoctoral at the Università di Pisa. PhD in Environmental Sciences from the Federal University of Goiás. Graduated in Law from the Federal University of Goiás (1998), with a specialization in Constitutional Law, also from the Federal University of Goiás (2000), has multidisciplinary training, originally graduated in Mechanical Engineering and with a master's degree in Materials Science, from the Military Institute of Engineering - IME. Occupational Safety Engineer. Graduated from the International Labor Organization - ILO, in Turin - Italy. He is currently a professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the State of Goiás - IFG, working in the Environmental Coordination. He works in the areas of Environmental Law, International Law, Labor Law and the Work Environment. Coordinates research in the area of ​​Environment, with an emphasis on Environmental Policy and Legislation, Work Environment and Solid Waste. Visiting Professor at the University of Pisa. Member of the OAB/GO Environmental Law Commission. Member of the ABES National Environmental Thematic Chamber.

Thiago Augusto Mendes, IFG - Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goiás

Junior Post-Doctor CNPq in Geotechnics from UnB (2024) and UFG (2022), PhD in Geotechnics from UnB (2019), Master in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources from UFG (2008) and Civil Engineer from UFG (2005). Professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goiás (IFG) and Technical Analyst - Civil Engineer of the State of Goiás (Goiana Housing Agency - AGEHAB) since 2010. He was a professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (PUC Goiás ) between 2009 and 2022. He is currently a professor and advisor for the Postgraduate Program in Technology, Management and Sustainability (PPGTGS) at IFG. He has experience in the areas of: water resources, drainage, basic and environmental sanitation, environment, geotechnics and numerical modeling and analysis. He served as a post-doctoral fellow at PD Furnas-Eletrobrás, where he developed research related to the physical and numerical modeling of hydrological processes and erosion on the edges of reservoirs, development of equipment for simulating rain and surface runoff, as well as the supply and transfer of sediments in UHE reservoir basins (ANEEL - UFG agreement).
