DINÂMICA AGRÍCOLA EM PERNAMBUCO: UMA ANÁLISE SHIFT-SHARE DAS CULTURAS DE 2000 A 2020

The present work aims to analyze the dynamics of agricultural growth in each mesoregion of the state of Pernambuco and identify the changes that occurred in agricultural production in the state in the period from 2000 to 2020 through the shift-share decomposition methodology. The results demonstrate that during the period analyzed, changes occurred in crop areas, regardless of profitability, but that what was responsible for the growth in agricultural production was productivity, whether through physical or human capital technologies. To increase technical and economic efficiency in the production of these crops, it is essential that farmers have access to technologies such as higher quality seeds, use appropriate machinery and equipment and engage in production specialization processes.
