Abstract

Technological advances have transformed the way we relate, how we act and what we do, especially AI. One of the pillars of society, which is work, is being substantially and essentially altered. Technologies demand new skills and competencies, new job prospects and alter labor dynamics. The adaptation of these traditional structures has led to marked inequality and unemployment. People are replaced by automation on a daily basis. New forms of work, such as platformization, have created a working class without rights. With such profound changes, concerns arise, while the discourse of innovation stands out and countless efforts are made to leverage new technologies. Workers need to know who they are working for, the profit their work generates and what they are giving up for that profit. The aim of this study is to understand how the use of new technologies in the world of work rose in the fourth industrial revolution, with globalization and the transformations it has caused since then, analysing how automation impacts labour relations, such as platformization, which curtails rights for the sake of innovation and AI progress. The research used the deductive method and the qualitative approach, as well as bibliographical and documentary research techniques.
