Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyse the discursiveness present in the contemporary social problem of paternal absence, which is expressed in statements circulating both in everyday conversations and in the media about how it works. To achieve this, the text “Chegou o dia da formatura, por que o pai não vai?” (MARTINS, 2023), published on the first day of December 2023 on the digital page of the Jornal do Tocantins, is taken as the representational object of this dynamic. In order to examine this material, the renowned qualitative-interpretative method of Discourse Analysis was used, using some of its operational concepts. In line with the purpose of this study and looking at the architectural organisation of its interior, the following sections follow: Considerações teórico-metodológicas in which the notions of device, enunciated, discursive formation and episteme are explained. Análise: pai ausente em artigo de opinião in which the reading of the object of this article is verticalised by mobilising the interpretative tools mentioned above. One of the results of this investigation is the anchoring of discursive formations governed by a particular episteme capable of mobilising meanings limited by the forms of knowledge-power themselves, as was seen in this article.

Possui graduação em Letras, português/inglês, pela Universidade do Vale do Sapucaí (2009), em Psicologia pela Universidade Paulista (2014), em Filosofia pela Universidade de Franca (2014) e em Ciências Humanas pela Universidade Estácio de Sá (2023), especialização em Estudos Literários pela Faculdade Comunitária de Campinas (2013), mestrado em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (2015) e doutorado em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (2018). É líder do Grupo de Estudo de Análise do Discurso (GEsTADI - UFT) e membro pesquisador do Grupo de Estudos em Análise do discurso e História das ideias linguísticas (VOX - UFSCar). É editor-chefe das revistas Porto das Letras (ISSN - 2448-0819), vinculada ao programa de pós-graduação em Letras da UFT, Acta Semiótica et Lingvistica (ISSN - 2446-7006), fundada na USP de São Paulo, em 1977, e da revista do Grupo de Estudo de Análise do Discurso, GEsTADI, (ISSN - 2965-4440). Atua como professor nos cursos de graduação em Letras e de pós-graduação stricto sensu em Letras da Universidade Federal do Tocantins no campus de Porto Nacional. Coordenou o Programa de Pós-Graduação stricto sensu em Letras (PPGLetras) da Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT) de janeiro de 2022 a janeiro de 2023. Atualmente é vice-coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação stricto sensu em Letras (PPGLetras) da Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT). É pesquisador bolsista de produtividade do CNPq (PQ-2), com experiência de pesquisa na área de Linguística, com ênfase em Análise do Discurso. atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: mídia, sucesso, teoria e análise do texto.
