Este ensaio tem como objetivo apresentar, historicizando, a atuaçãodo profissional formado nos Cursos de Pedagogia nas escolas brasileiras — o
Supervisor Escolar — e discutir a pesquisa-ação como prática que deveria instaurar-
se nestas instituições na perspectiva da transformação social. A
ressignificação da prática deste profissional será apresentada como uma das
possibilidades de se dar um salto qualitativo no processo de formação continuada
dos professores em atividade nas diversas redes de ensino.
