A literatura é produzida dentro de um contexto sociocultural, e está sujeita às variações ou mudanças que nela ocorrem. Assim, pode-se dizer que a literatura e sociedade mantêm vínculos estreitos. De acordo com Antonio Candido, a literatura é verossímil, ou seja, ela se assemelha com a realidade social, pois, autor, obra e público estão intrinsecamente ligados, formando uma tríade indissolúvel. Este presente artigo tem como objetivo compreender O Seminarista de Rubem Fonseca, escritor da literatura contemporânea brasileira, tentando observar essa máxima de Antonio Candido. Foi analisado no romance o paradoxo da máxima visibilidade na vida pública de contextos urbanos, com o aumento da solidão, do isolamento e da impessoalidade ocasionados nas interações sociais das sociedades contemporâneas e no Brasil.Downloads
