Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal a reflexão sobre procedimentos técnicos de tradução. O objeto de análise é a canção de Tom Jobim e Newton Mendonça Samba de Uma Nota Só, que foi traduzida para o inglês pelo próprio Jobim; portanto, trata-se de uma tradução interlingual. As reflexões partem da definição de tradução e do verbo traduzir, passam de maneira breve pela sua história na Antiguidade e a sua relação com a literatura. E, então, a análise de alguns trechos do Samba de Uma Nota Só e a sua versão em inglês, sob o ponto de vista de um dos representantes da Geração de 45.Downloads
