Este artigo trata de um intrigante tema que se relacionadiretamente com os estudos da linguagem: a vinculação existente entre
cérebro e mente. Nele, Chomsky descreve as possibilidades de
propriedades da mente serem emergentes do cérebro, com o intuito de
discutir (rediscutir) as questões relacionadas à aquisição da linguagem.
Para isso, faz referências a outras ciências, para muito além da linguística,
como a física e química, e arrolando pesquisadores renomados dessas
áreas, tanto da atualidade como do passado que corroboram essa tese.
