This article analyzes mathematical learning through the articulation of neuroscience, psychopedagogy, and problem solving, based on a qualitative case study guided by an archeogenealogical approach. The investigation was conducted with elementary school students, focusing on the construction of the concept of fractions in a pedagogical environment designed to simultaneously address cognitive, affective, and instructional dimensions of learning. Data were generated through pre- and post-diagnostic tests, classroom observation, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of students’ productions. The results indicate improvements in conceptual performance, accompanied by changes in engagement levels and in students’ relationship with mathematical knowledge. The analysis suggests that pedagogical practices integrating neurocognitive processes, psychopedagogical mediation, and problem solving may support the construction of mathematical meanings in situated contexts. The study contributes to discussions on teacher education and to understanding the conditions under which certain pedagogical practices become possible in mathematics education.
