The use of the fraction disc: an experience with operations on fractions with a 6th-year student in the municipality of Canaã dos Carajás - PA

Given the moment that education is experiencing, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the way it had to adapt teaching to social isolation. This work was prepared by two 4th year students of the Mathematics course atthe State University of Pará (UEPA). The objective was to help a student from elementary school in the municipality of Canaã dos Carajás - PA to learn. The subject covered by this report is the handling of the fraction disk. For many scholars, the handling of concrete materials can bring students closer to mathematical knowledge and create an effective learning relationship. The delivery of content took place in two moments, in person and at the student's home. In the first moment, the subject was explained on a whiteboard and, in the second, the content was worked out with the help of the disk. At the end of each class, a 25-question questionnaire was applied.
