Abstract

Objectives: to assess burnout prevalence among UPA physicians and explore associations between its dimensions (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment) and sociodemographic and organizational factors. Methods: a cross-sectional, quantitative study involving 29 full-time UPA physicians in the Campos Gerais region. Data were collected via electronic questionnaires, including the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), and analyzed using R software. Results: high burnout levels were identified, with 82.76% reporting disorganized work environments and 79.31% citing excessive management demands. Significant associations included higher emotional exhaustion in physicians with longer UPA tenure (OR=5.99; 95% CI: 2.91-6.13) and turnover intentions linked to low personal accomplishment (OR=5.94; 95% CI: 1.15-7.35). Conclusion: organizational and emotional factors were pivotal in the development of burnout among UPA physicians. Interventions improving work conditions and providing psychological support are crucial. This study supports health policies aimed at professional well-being and enhanced patient care quality.
