Keywords:
Enunciators, beliefs, "até porque".Abstract
A language in use allows that new words to be created or that it gets new functions to existing words. The case of “até porque” is the result from the combination from two words that, in Portuguese, have function and uses grammatically demarcated. When we analyzed interviews from Foz do Iguaçu informants, we verified the articulation of these words to the insertion of beliefs justification presented by the informants. Thus, we traced as objective of this article the identification of how informants see themselves and the speakers in which informants inquired by the Research Project “Crenças e Atitudes Linguísticas: um estudo da relação do português com línguas em contato” live with. The analysis of how informants’ beliefs are constituted is based on discussions realizes in two areas of linguistic studies: argumentative semantic, which guides the operator use; and the sociolinguistics, that subsidize the analysis of beliefs and linguistic attitudes. So, according to undertaken analysis, we identified that the use of “até porque” in the informants’ answers introduces justification to an answer sometimes negative and that indicates beliefs.
