Anti-racist reading and education: considering the gaps

This article proposes to discuss the teaching of reading in an educational context that requires an anti-racist education. For this, it analyzes the legend of the raven and the turtle, considering to transpose a reading that favors only the narrative structure. As a theorical basis, using Eco (1986), Iser (1999) and Revaz (1987). From the accomplish study, it is perceived the teacher needs in qualifying reading, recognizing the semantic-pragmatic elements to discuss the gaps of the selected texts, mainly when they reproduce ethnic-racial stereotypes.Downloads
