Artists from Parana* and their audience formation processes
Keywords:
Theatrical reception, Theatrical mediation, Audience formation.Abstract
This study analyzes the formation of theatrical spectators from actions taken by the artists themselves of the contemporary theatrical scene from Paraná, from the cities of Curitiba and Araucária. Some of the topics addressed in this research correspond to theatrical reception, theatrical mediation, the audience formation; physical and linguistic access to the theater, cultural space and cultural action. Authors of these subjects, such as Maria Lúcia Pupo, Flávio Desgranges, Teixeira Coelho, Biange Cabral and Robson Rosseto are mentioned in this article. Also, statistical data are analyzed, which show the lack of knowledge of more than half the Brazilian population in relation to theatrical art. In order to get this information, some research and data stated in this article was taken from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the Federation of Commerce (Fecomércio). Through interviews conducted during the field research with the artist Gláucio Karas and the artist Hélio de Aquino, representative of the Comparsaria Cênica group, the actions undertaken by them were acknowledged in front of individuals who had never been to the theater or who rarely attended the scenic environment. Finally, the audience formation work has been identified by them, such as debates at the end of the plays and the reduction of theater tickets’ prices.
