THE DEATH AS TEACHING OBJECT: A RESEARCH PROPOSAL

The death remains as taboo in the occidental societies contemporaries, which if feel frightened in having that to coexist its rites, noises, sounds, silence and aromas. Into the last decades, the society occidental person transformed the death in interdict, occulting it of the children and excluding it of the daily one of the families. Mainly, of the hospital and educative institutions. The recent research points the necessity of an education with respect to the death and signals the school as place of reflection of this thematic one. In this place, professors and pupils will be able to interact in the quarrel on the subject, being revealed its doubts, fidgets, difficulties and questionings. The presence of a tanatólogo can be requested in such a way to collaborate, to mediate and exploit both the education professionals, as the parents so that they can share together with the professors in the education of the children, whom they need to learn to deal with the losses in elapsing of its existence. Being thus, parents and professors will be able to deal with this subject with the children with naturalness, being facilitated its agreement. This work has as objective main to look for to conceive as the professors of the initial series of Basic teaching approach the concept of death in the classroom, as well as these professors if they hold when the death, directly or indirectly, if makes gift in its daily professional.
