Abstract

 

This study investigates the pertinence and viability of the public policies that intend to raise tha quality of Brazilian basic education through curriculum oriented proposals. Focusing the reflection on the Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (the National Curriculum Standards), which the Ministry of Education publicized as a quality reference for the basic education of the country. ( solidarity, education, ethics, transversalidade, citizenship)
