REFLEXIONS ABOUT THE ELDERLY VALORIZATION

This paper discusses elderly valorization with the music utilization. Its objective is to talk about the importance of music for the valorization process for the elder citizens, as well as the aid it can provide to the elderly. Besides contributing to a better life quality, music also helps in socialization, communication, creativity, and motor coordination of the elderly. It is important to take into account that the musical practice should always be part of the elderly of the life, contributing to the intellectual development of each individual. The present paper has as theorical base the works of authors like: Mascaro (2004), Rodrigues (2003), Zanini (2003), among others. Based on a bibliographical research in the fields of musical education, old age and life quality it was possible to observe the relationship between music and elderly, checking how music can have an effect on the human being and help them keep a better life quality.
