VARIETIES ESTIGMATIZADAS: PRECONCEPTIONS AND JUDGMENTS IN THE MEDIA

This work presents evaluations and analyses linguistics made by some interviewed people about the variety of Portuguese language which is spoken in the Brazilian soap opera " Chocolate com Pimenta". A research was made about the speech between the main characters of the soap opera who live in the town and those who live in the urban area with the purpose to verify the dialogue between the public who watches the soap opera and the characters as well, with the purpose to analyses the different types of linguistics aspects. The results showed cleared that the soap opera directly interferes in the judgments of the persons. The popular linguistics varieties are negatively evaluated and the most cultural linguistics varieties are positively evaluated by the interviewed people.
