WHEN THEY LOVE EACH OTHER: HOMOEROTISM IN SHORT STORIES BY CAIO FERNANDO ABREU AND WALDIR LEITE

Esse trabalho analisa os contos “Aqueles dois”, de Caio
Fernando Abreu e “Ipanema Blues”, de Waldir Leite, mostrando como o
homoerotismo é tratado pelo primeiro valendo-se de uma linguagem lírica,
mais sugestiva do que descritiva, enquanto o último utiliza uma linguagem
crua, dando ênfase aos detalhes das cenas de sexo. Publicado na década
de 80 do século passado, o conto de Caio Fernando Abreu evidencia o
comportamento discriminatório e repressivo das pessoas, ao se
depararem com um relacionamento homoerótico, e esse preconceito
deriva também da falta de amadurecimento da sociedade de então em
relação ao homossexualismo. Por outro lado, o conto de Waldir Leite
dirige-se expressamente para o público gay, sem fazer concessões com o
intuito de agradar o público heterossexual, valendo-se de uma linguagem
que oscila entre o erotismo e a pornografia, apresentando uma escrita que
não encobre com os véus do pudor a realização do desejo dos corpos de
seus personagens.
