THE MEANINS OF VIOLENCE AT SCHOOL FOR THE TEACHERS OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF BELEM

The violence that is present at scholar environment can generate lost to the educational process and to the subject relationships. The comprehension of this phenomenon cross the meanings of these subjects the live in this environment, once it is represented based on space and time it is referred. So, the research objectives firstly the identification and analysis of meanings the teachers of high school at public schools in Belém, have about the violence at scholar environment. Other objectives are: identification of actors and forms and more frequent situation and verification of actions schools have to develop to extinguish the violence. For such a purpose bibliographic studies a field research were carried on 04 (four) public high school in Belém, state of Pará. It was used a questionnaire as research instrument for data collection with the following theme: meaning and forms of violence; more frequent situations; and action that schools have to adopt to extinguish the violence in their environments. The data analysis was based in Bardin (2003) on analysis of content. Results show that the meanings the teachers attribute to violence is constituted by a number of aggressions, since physical lost till other more subjective. This phenomenon is caused so by external conflicts so those inherent to the school environment. The main subjects pointed as violence producers are the pupils, although other members of schools are also referred. Treatment actions were showed. It is important that the schools take attitudes on their day-by-day regarded to the prevention and/or reduction on violence levels
