Abstract

 

This article come to reflect about one language of the theater "A Midsummer Night's Dream", of the English William Shakespeare, staged for the Olodum Theater. The language used in the scene adds expressions of the local culture, baiana, that send to the supposed baianidade. Taking for base the estimated theoreticians of authors of the Cultural Studies and the Semiotics, one considers the identity as conceptions transformed throughout the time, generating in the present time, a fragmented citizen. It is applied as procedure metodologic the assistance of the theater for dvd, as well as the bibliographical research.
