FROM ‘SPECTACULAR LABORATORY’ TO ‘ART LABORATORY’: AN ESSAY ABOUT THE NEW RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN ART AND SCIENCE

This essay addresses the laboratories as spaces for creation of new relationships between
art and science. It is expected to contribute to the study of recent relationships between scientists and
artists in the context of art that manipulates the lives through laboratorial procedures. It is understood
that the art biotechnology involves the establishment of a new fictional system based not only on image
(picture), but in life itself (genetic code).
