MONTEIRO LOBATO AND THE FAIRY TALES: AN STUDY ABOUT THE PRESENCE OF THE CHARACTER BLUEBEARD IN THE SÍTIO DO PICAPAU AMARELO

Durante a leitura dos livros infantis de Lobato, familiariza-se com sua criação:
Narizinho, Pedrinho, Dona Benta, Tia Nastácia e Emília que habitam num espaço tipicamente
nacional, conhecido como Sítio do Picapau Amarelo. A cada nova leitura das histórias,
percebe-se que esse lugar, além de acolher as figuras concebidas pelo escritor, recebe também
personagens estrangeiras na condição de visitantes. Dessa maneira, observa-se que os textos
lobatianos dialogam com a História, com a Mitologia e com a própria Literatura. Com relação
a esta última, verifica-se que muitas personagens do Mundo das Fábulas passam a viver novas
aventuras junto com as de Monteiro Lobato, no Sítio do Picapau Amarelo. Considerando este
intercâmbio de “mundos”, no presente trabalho pretende-se analisar o modo como o escritor
brasileiro se vale da “tradição literária” na construção de suas histórias. Especificamente, será
analisada a presença da personagem Barba Azul, do conto “La Barbe-Bleue”, da obra Contesde ma mère l’oye (1697), de Charles Perrault. Para o desenvolvimento desta proposta,primeiramente, será examinado o tratamento dado a essa personagem no conto francês para,
na seqüência, verificar as adaptações e/ou transformações realizadas por Lobato ao inseri-la
em seu universo ficcional. Desse modo, acredita-se que, o estudo da presença da personagem
de Perrault na saga lobatiana, é significativo para uma melhor configuração da maneira como
Lobato entendia a produção literária destinada às crianças.
