This article aims to discuss the films Lamarca (1994) of Sergio Resende and O
que é isso companheiro? (1997) of Bruno Barreto, in order to implement its narrative to the
teaching of history that deals with the armed resistance to military dictatorship. The film, in
some way, is inserted into school education by teachers in the history teaching. Based on the
Marc Ferro proposal, we reflect on the following issues: why use these films in the classroom
to deal with the armed resistance? In what ways they can contribute in the process of teaching
and learning? We believe that using the movie narrative in teaching and learning of history
can be useful, because provides education for the media, and favours memory at the expense
of presentism, very common in society today.
