Keywords:
Frida Kahlo, Biografia, Criatividade.Abstract
This essay analyzes the biography of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, with the
goal to highlight the paths that made her become an acknowledged artist through the theories
about the development and the expression of the creativity. From Frida's biographies made by
Kettenman (1990) and by Jamís (1995), it was analyzed if the process of her art's development
matched with aspects that, according to the literature, would favor the development and the
expression of the creativity, such as antecedent factors in the families' contexts, environmental
conditions that could influence the creativity, and personal attributes. The analysis revealed that
the painter had a stimulating environment since her childhood and that she showed strong
personal motivation for the development of her creativeness potential.
