Keywords:
Corsino Fortes, Literatura cabo-verdiana, Celebração, Erotismo.Abstract
This paper aims to present a reading of Corsino Fortes with an emphasis in some
historical moments of Cape Verdean literature. The text discusses turning points of Clareza,Certeza e Távola redonda (Clarity, Certainty and Round Table) magazines, and seeks to put the poet’swork in context of dialectic of permanence and departure which is a constant theme of Cape
Verde’s poetry. This discussion aims to find a place for the poet, making explicit the sui generis
traces which poiesis has of the rock and the celebration of the image in the Archipelago. Underthis light, the paper discusses celebration in the sense of thinking national identity and the poetic
presentation the lyric subject brings when he sings the nation, painting the beauty of Cape
Verdean islands by means of a metaphor flood that allude to eroticism.
