THE STILL CURRENT IDEA OF THE BRAZILIAN CORDIALITY: RESUMING THE DEBATE
Keywords:
Cordialidade brasileira, Gestão pública, Debate.Abstract
The formation of the Brazilian people, the idea of “races”, “nation” and
“Grazilian inteligence” can be better understood by the reading of works that are, in fact,
sociological documents about Brazil. Among these works is Raízes do Brasil (1936), bySérgio Buarque de Holanda, which had been much studied in the past. However, due to the
relevant analysis carried out by the historian, it is still on the agenda, and some of its texts
show the author’s position, which should be resumed, because they favor both the debate
on the issue of the so-called cordiality of the Brazilian people and the production other
texts.
